Eha Urbsalu, who the New York Post calls "an Estonian stunner", is a triple threat in field of music, modeling, and film. Starting with From The Hamptons To Ibiza compilation, 2002 by Koch Records, featuring three Éha written and recorded songs, Eha has received great reviews. In 2004 with the released Eha of the single Touch Me. Soon after Touch Me was chosen for Promo Only Rhythm Radio compilation, next to Janet Jackson and Seal. In August 2004 Éha was asked to perform on a Karin Models Next Generation Awards in Quayaquil, Equador, which was televised by Fashion TV and Univision throughout the world. Éha spent the reminder of the year traveling between the United States and Europe recording her debut album Together, working with an "A List" of musical talent, including Grammy® winners Jimmy Douglass and Ernie Lake, "house music" pioneer Vince Lawrence, Italy's Armando Curcio, and Estonia's Def Räädu. An exciting combination of self written, chill and dance driven repertoire, Ms. Urbsalu's very first full length is a blend of American and Eastern European musical cultures. In October another song from Éha's album, I'm On My Way, was chosen by Italy's biggest Radio 105 network for a compilation Top Radio 6, which soon reached a gold album status.
Éha was born in Estonia, the northwestern republic of the former Soviet Union. Éha grew up in Tallinn, the country's medieval capital, where her mother, Milja, was a costume designer in the country's only movie studio. Singing from childhood, at the age of six, the young Éha was selected to enter the Jacob Westholm Gymnasium, a specialized musical high school, where she studied for eleven years and also performed in the youth chorus of Estonia, Noorus. As a teenager, she also sang and wrote songs for a political ensemble, performing at the Old City Festival, among other venues.
In her teenage years Éha won a series of national beauty contests, including Miss Estonia and the very first and last Supermodel of Soviet Union, as the country entered "perestroika", thus leading to her participation in the Supermodel of the World, starting Éha's travels throughout the world for modeling and television appearances. In the late nineties Éha followed her dream of music and movies, and moved to Hollywood. While in Los Angeles, she attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and acted in several comedies, including Cannes Man and more recently The Stepford Wives and a Russian feature Spy Games 3.
In 2005 Éha performed as a finalist in Estonia for the Eurovision song contest. Soon after the song, Gotta Go, reached #1 in radio in Estonia and by 2006 stayed months in Hot 100 and Top 100 of Korea. By the end of the year Éha released a self titled album, EHA, in Estonia. Several tracks reached #1in Estonia. Several other songs were selected to various compilations around the world, like Monte Carlo Nights, by Radio Monte Carlo, 24/7 Sounds Of Borgata in Atlantic City, and Feels Like Café in Australia.
In 2007 Sweet Rains Records released digitally Éha's album EHA and the remixed single Show Me How. Show Me How soon reached both club and radio charts in Europe and the US and is currently released in Italy on a compilation Summer In Ibiza, by Radio 105. |
